🌿 My Journey to Becoming a Doula

Discover what led me to create my work as a doula.

It all began in Vancouver.
I had planned to stay in Canada for just a few months…
Life had other plans, I stayed for 5 years.

​

There, I discovered a very different approach to supporting pregnant women:

• Home birth is part of the care model, meaning women can consciously choose to give birth at home. Two midwives are present during the birth, offering reassurance and safety. They work in close collaboration with hospitals, thanks in part to well-established transfer protocols within the healthcare system.

• Women are encouraged to be supported by a doula during pregnancy and birth, especially when they are alone or when their families live abroad.

Women feel held, supported, and truly seen in what they are going through.

Canada also embodies a culture of empathy and kindness toward children and families. Through strong community support, families are not left alone to navigate the challenges of motherhood.
I saw the difference this makes and I asked myself: why not in France?

I returned to Burgundy with that question in the back of my mind, and with a deep conviction:
women here deserve the same level of support.

At first, I followed a more traditional career path:  working in property management, then as a service manager for local authorities.
But that calling never left me.

✨ A Calling Becomes a Path

In 2024, I took the leap.
I trained and stepped into entrepreneurship.

Les Mères’veilleuses was born.

​

As a doula, I now have the joy of supporting women every day on their journey into motherhood.

​

Since autumn 2025, I’ve also had the pleasure of welcoming you to La Maison de la Doula in Viévy.

​

💛 My Life as a Mother

Today, I am the mother of three children, aged 12, 10, and 3.

Motherhood has taught me so much, through doubts, moments of loneliness, the search for answers…
and above all, the profound difference it makes when someone is truly there for you.
